Timaru

On Friday both Chris and I had a day off so we went on a little road trip...

To Timaru. We looked at the pretty buildings and strolled through the shops.

 We had some lunch.

And had a drink at the historic pub.

We looked at the animals in the pet store.

And drove home as the sun was setting.

One Year

It has been exactly one year and a day since I started this blog. One year ago we had just moved to back to Christchurch after escaping to Gisborne following the earthquakes. Chris had just had knee surgery and our lives seemed quite uncertain. Blogging was something I had been thinking about doing for a while and a large drift of snow which I photographed finally brought this blog about. The idea of the blog was really just to recognise what in my life I thought was beautiful and what I loved and to remind myself what these things were.

Food is one of these things, and boy have I eaten well this year.

There have also been some parties, festivals and adventures.

Christmas and New Years spent in Australia with my family.

There have been some outfits and hair cuts and shoes.

And there has been one very special person along on all my adventures.

So that has been a year of my blog. I have been a bit slow at making posts in the last few months, for which I could make many excuses. But really you have to make time for important things.
I know I have a couple silent followers out there (they admit it occasionally on the sly), what would you guys like to see on here? More daily posts? Are there specific things about my life that anyone wants to know? Make it easy for me and give me a few ideas!

But most importantly thanks for watching and commenting and being cool. If no one ever looked I might well disappear off the internets.

Sunday at the Markets

This morning was grey and foggy, so we went to the market to see the sights and buy some fruit.

There was a busker playing the acordian.

 (:

They have some cool vintage stalls there, it is always fun to sift through everything.

The apples and pears that you can buy there are local and so fresh and yum

I got some very comfy Kathmando tramping boots.

I thought The Boat Shed look pretty on the way home.

You are supreme, the chicks'll cream

On Sunday we went to a drive-in movie that the uni was putting on. This is how I looked.

 There was free popcorn .

And the movie was Grease. It was great apart from the fact that car park is full of trees.

Cecy Young

I found this French photographer Cecy Young online today and thought I would share some of her pictures with you. I thought they were just so beautiful and inspiring. You can find more of her work on her website.

STOP! Playing in my aquarium!

Yesterday evening we saw Lady Hawke play. She was great. We danced and sang (Chris likes to change the lyrics to songs I like, hence the title, that song will never be about delirium for me ever again) and when it ticked over to midnight it was her birthday and the whole audience screamed out the happy birthday song.

Mulled

On Tuesday night Chris and I went to the Night Market at uni. We drunk free mulled wine and ate candied nuts and wandered around the stalls. There was a good band (Goodbye Blue Monday) playing, a dog sitting on a donkey and lots of pretty things in the stalls. When we biked home the grass and the concrete were already becoming glittery with frost and our breaths trailed behind us.

Night of Light

We went for a walk in the gardens today and saw the first of the spring blossoms. Winter might be on its way out! (I am probably a bit too hopeful).

 Cutie

 Hi.

In the evening we went to Night of Light at the university. A little market as part of the re-orientation week.

 There was some music...

And some fireworks.
